There have been many of us who have loved Laurel Elementary and Lagos De Moreno Park for quite some time. So it's fabulous news that our Park with Playground at the corner of Flower & Birch Street in Brea, CA is going to be revitalized, re-done, modernized, brought into the 21st Century!
This page is to help bring our community together to contribute to the evolution of this sweet little park.
February2015 UPDATE-
Dear Supporters, The Brea-Olinda Unified School District Board and Brea City Council have stated they recognize the need to jointly meet and discuss Revitalizing Lagos-Laurel along with other issues.
We hope they’ll be fully prepared to agree on policy issues and responsibilities. Their decisions will decide the future of Lagos-Laurel.
Your attendance at this upcoming meeting (TBD) will make a positive difference.
They're working with their respective staffs to organize this formal joint meeting.
We’ll let you know the meeting date and other details as soon as we hear.
THANKS to all who attended the Community Engagement Forum to Revitalize Lagos De Moreno Park - Laurel Elementary "Lower" Playground Project held August 2014, the school board in October 2014 and other meetings and efforts.
It’s been 20 years since there’s been new play equipment.
Nothing fancy. Something nice, decent at the standard of other facilities in Brea.

Plan to attend to give your perspective to BOTH the City Council of Brea & the School Board of Brea Olinda Unifed School District (BOUSD).
They know this needs to be addressed. Their joint use agreement expired in 2004. It's time to take care of this park-playground.

Outcome of June 4, 2014 meeting: There will be an open community forum to discuss the Park This SUMMER 2014.
Feb 2015 - School Board & City Council say they will jointly meet.
Laurel PTA has been working to revitalize this playground-park for over 7 years.
We think it's time for this project to be a priority.
Let's decide Lagos De Moreno Park-Laurel School Lower Playground’s future together.
